Frequently Asked Questions:
Can you fly drone anywhere?
Almost anywhere in Canada, however I must follow all local, provincial and federal aviation laws. You can visit https://nrc.canada.ca/en/drone-tool/ for a map of common restricted airspace zones (most of which can be entered with permission). Please contact me to confirm your location.
I want aerial photos/video, but it’s next to an airport. Can you fly there?
In short, YES. Most small airports generally don’t require NAV Canada approval, however larger airports do. The approval process is generally quick (less than 48 hours), however depending on the complexity it could take up to 14 days.
Are you certified to fly?
YES, drones up to 25KG (about 55 lbs). Any and all drones in Canada (excluding micro drones under 250g) are required to registered and operated by a certified pilot. I’m certified by Transport Canada for Advanced Operations which is the highest level of certification.
Do you have drone insurance?
YES, I have standard commercial drone liability & hull insurance.
Are these photos, your photos?
YES, all photos on this site from the main banner to the thumbnail images on the blog page were taken by me.
I need aerial photos/video of an event. Can you do that?
YES. If the event is considered an “advertised” event, a SFOC (Special Flight Operations Certificate, which is specific to the location) may need to be obtained. While this isn’t a problem, it does take time to go through the paperwork and approvals process.
If it’s a private or non-advertised event, SFOC is not required.

YES. send me a message and we can discuss options based on the nature of your use case.
